A QR image stores data. The key difference is whether that data is your final content or a managed address that forwards requests to a changeable destination.

Free direct static QR

The generator encodes your confirmed website link or plain text directly. No account, subscription, watermark or SmartQRSigns redirect is added. Download PNG or SVG immediately, with no email or payment step.

Your image contains fixed data. To change that data, generate a new QR and replace the original image or physical print. We do not impose an expiry on downloaded images. A linked website or redirect service that you enter can still change, disappear or stop working.

Tracking is unavailable for direct static codes. There is no SmartQRSigns scan dashboard or endpoint report for these downloads. QR readers decide how they handle plain text.

Managed dynamic QR signs

Managed codes contain a permanent SmartQRSigns short URL. The managed service forwards requests to the destinations you configure, so you can update those destinations while keeping the same physical sign. Random or weighted routing and endpoint redirect reporting belong to the managed service.

Each unique managed code has its own recurring subscription. Hardware, manufacturing and delivery are separate. The existing site shows proposed prices; ordering is not available in this local design implementation.

A static print cannot be converted in place into a dynamic code. You must generate a new managed QR image and replace the print. Choosing managed service is a separate paid flow, with separate consent.

Before you print

1. Confirm the exact full link or text displayed by the generator.
2. Download the original SVG for a sign maker or an appropriately sized PNG for fixed layouts. Avoid screenshots.
3. Keep the four-module white border on every side. Do not crop, invert, stretch or add a logo over the pattern.
4. Use a shorter direct address if your pattern becomes dense. This generator does not shorten links for you.
5. Test the exported image and a real print with your phone, at the intended size, angle, lighting and placement.

We do not guarantee a universal print size or scanning distance. Position signs where people can safely stop to scan. Vehicle suitability and installation requirements need individual checks; never scan while driving.

PNG output rounds up to a whole number of pixels per QR module. The actual dimensions are shown before download. SVG is scalable and includes its white background and clear border.

Generator privacy

Generation runs locally in your browser. We do not upload, store, hash or log the content you enter or the generated image. No input history, autosave, localStorage or sessionStorage is used by this generator. Preview data and download links are released when cleared, replaced or the page is left.

When this page is served online, the hosting and security providers may process ordinary access and security logs, such as the page request and network information. That page delivery is separate from QR scan tracking. This generator has no third-party marketing scripts, session replay, content capture, external QR service, URL preview or destination lookup.

A download saves a file on your device through your browser. Your own browser, device or third-party destination can have separate privacy practices. A link supplied by you may already use a redirect or tracking service; generation does not remove those existing dependencies.

The homepage sign configurator separately offers an explicit on-device save action. It does not receive or save this generator's input.

Using the free generator

You can generate and download direct static PNG and SVG images without an account or fee. A download does not order a physical sign, create a subscription or register a managed code. The tool encodes content you confirm and does not certify a destination's safety, ownership, legality or ongoing availability.

Only encode content you are entitled to use. Do not use QR images for phishing, malware, fraud, harassment or unlawful content. We do not inspect your locally generated content. You are responsible for checking the payload, destination and suitability of the final image and print.

Keep a copy of your original file. Static content cannot be changed in a downloaded image. Availability changes to this website or generator do not alter the data in files already downloaded. The physical sign catalog, approved commercial terms and any future managed subscription are separate from this free tool.
